Anne Phillips combines her background as an historian and professional planning experience to champion equitable approaches to communication, community engagement, and transportation planning. Most recently, Anne was a principal transportation planner for the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization where she leveraged federal funds, developed policies, and designed engagement strategies to create a more equitable transportation system for the Triangle region. Prior to working in transportation planning, Anne taught history and interdisciplinary courses at Duke University and Dartmouth College. Anne has a BA in history and sociology from Florida State University, and a MA and PhD in history from Duke University.
