Project
Atlanta is addressing significant wealth disparities through a comprehensive neighborhood wealth-building strategy to support economic inclusion and protect legacy residents during revitalization efforts. This initiative focuses on ensuring equitable benefits from community investments, particularly in historically underserved areas where White households hold median wealth levels of $238,000 compared to just $5,000 for Black households. By developing targeted strategies and implementing a “Main Street” economic initiative along commercial corridors, Atlanta aims to create pathways to prosperity and strengthen community resilience in underserved neighborhoods.
