Ernest Shahbazian

ERNEST SHAHBAZIAN has more than 15 years of experience in management consulting and entrepreneurship. He has served as a change manager and organizational effectiveness consultant for firms such as IBM, North Highland, and Slalom, and he has worked with clients in various industries. Most recently, Ernest founded Trip Astute, a travel education and marketing company serving travelers and travel-industry brands. Prior to his business career, Ernest served as a communications officer in the U.S. Air Force. He has an MBA from William & Mary and a B.A. in geography from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Project

To enhance medical care and reduce costs, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services launched a Command Center to centralize operations for patient transfers, particularly repatriations from out-of-network hospitals. FUSE Executive Fellow Ernest Shahbazian helped streamline operations and is working to add more centers while further improving processes.
