Project
The City of Long Beach’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is addressing workforce challenges in public health by implementing strategies to promote diversity, improve recruitment and retention, and build a resilient talent pipeline. This initiative aims to develop a workforce that reflects the city’s diverse population while creating pathways for underserved communities to access public health careers. By establishing partnerships with local educational institutions and implementing effective retention programs, Long Beach is working to build a more resilient health workforce that can better serve the city’s vulnerable populations.
