LAUREN HANCOCK (2017-18) has spent more than 15 years working as an educator and advocate for student-centered learning. Most recently, she was a project fellow and school leader professional development lecturer at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University. She has traveled across the country working with principals dedicated to changing the future of education and developing student-centered programs. Previously, Lauren was a founding educator and head of school at AltSchool in San Francisco, and has worked in Family Programs at Google. She earned a B.A. from the California State University, Northridge.
Project
The San Jose Public Library has been working to facilitate learning beyond the classroom for children of low-income families. FUSE executive fellow Lauren Hancock helped further these endeavors by overseeing relevant programs, expanding the network of outside educational providers, and establishing quality standards.
