Lawrence Ebo

LAWRENCE EBO is a strategic and business-minded Information Technology Project Manager with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the technical field. He started his professional career as a Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps. He supported the contracts for Air Defense Variants for LAI Bn in Camp Pendelton, including war defense efforts in Desert Storm. Transitioning from the mechanical/engineering field in the Marines, he obtained his Associate, Bachelor, and Master. He is working on his Doctorate in Electronics and I.T. Technology at Phoenix University, South University, and UC Irvine. He has worked as Manager, Director, and Technology Advisor for Ingram Micro, Western State University College of Law, and Toyota. Some of his projects include developing High Availability and Disaster Recovery Solutions at Toyota. Campus-Wide Wireless Installation and Upgrade for Western State University College of Law. Hardware and Software refresh and upgrades for local city and government clients. Ebo has certifications in VMware and Cloud Cybersecurity. In 2020, he was also a Member of the Information Technology Judging for the 2020 American Business Awards.
Project
The Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting (BSL), a longtime leader in innovation, is spearheading a project to bridge the digital divide in underserved areas, mainly focusing on Crenshaw Boulevard. With funding from the American Rescue Plan, BSL aims to install shared-access, fiber-optic-capable infrastructure on 200,000 street light poles, providing free public Wi-Fi and enhancing smart-city services. Collaborating with FUSE, the BSL is enlisting FUSE Executive Fellow Lawrence Ebo to conduct research, engage stakeholders, and develop a strategic plan, ensuring equitable connectivity and affordability throughout Los Angeles by April 2025.
