SONIA PUNJABI is a technical leader, industry expert, and key influencer in international environmental sustainability, green buildings, energy efficiency, zero energy, and high-performance buildings. She has significant experience working with a variety of subject matter experts and industry stakeholders. Most recently, she worked for Pacific Gas and Electric, and she previously held leading roles with DNV GL, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U. S. Green Building Council. Sonia holds an M.S. in architecture, with a specialization in energy optimization and health and environmental systems, from Texas A&M University and a B.S. in architecture from the University of Mumbai.
Project
Oakland is building a rental registry to give policymakers better data so they can address the city’s urgent housing crisis and protect renters from illegal rent increases and evictions. FUSE Executive Fellow Sonia Punjabi is leading the planning and implementation of the new registry and developing strategies to ensure compliance by local property owners.
