Tucson and FUSE are expanding access to clean energy for low-income households, enabling families to lower their costs and build resilience in a warming climate.

Energy burdens fall hardest on households with limited resources and on homes that require energy efficiency upgrades. Expanding access to rooftop solar and related improvements can reduce costs and promote health; however, these programs can be complex to navigate. Tucson is developing a community-centered approach that makes clean energy more accessible and ensures residents have the information and support they need.

In collaboration with FUSE, the City will strengthen program design, build partnerships with trusted organizations, and create bilingual outreach that meets people where they are. FUSE Executive Fellow Carlos Corcuera will streamline participation, align training with workforce needs, and develop a sustainability plan so the work endures. The result will be a more inclusive clean energy ecosystem that supports families, advances climate goals, and invests in local capacity.
