There has never been a greater need in this country for professionals trained in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The Bay Area is home to some of the world’s most innovative companies and is uniquely positioned to lead the way in educating its young people for STEM careers. The Office of the Mayor, the San Francisco Unified School District, and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce hired FUSE Executive Fellow Nicola Clifford to work closely with public, private, and nonprofit partners to align current initiatives and develop a comprehensive regional plan to prepare students for STEM careers.
