Over the past several years, the California Health & Human Services Agency (CHHS) has been focused on increasing public access to health-related data, operating with greater levels of transparency and embracing more innovative approaches to its operations. CHHS aims to revitalize the way healthcare is provided and promoted throughout the State. With support from the California HealthCare Foundation, CHHS hired FUSE Executive Fellow Niles Friedman to establish a new Health Innovation Office to demonstrate the potential of innovation to help make California the healthiest state in the nation.
NILES FRIEDMAN (2015-16) has more than 15 years of executive management and advisory experience that spans the private and public sectors, both domestically and internationally. Most recently, he served as a senior advisor with the U.S. Small Business Administration. He previously served as a vice president with BroadReach Healthcare, where he led a division that created commercial markets to improve access to products and services in collaboration with health system and hospital leaders, government agencies, and private sector partners. Niles also previously served as a national partnership director with The Advisory Board Company and as a manager with Deloitte Consulting. He has a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University and a MPH with a concentration in management and public policy from Emory University.
