KIM M. BOWMAN JR. is an attorney with a demonstrated commitment to public service. He is a captain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and a member of the Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps Reserve (JAG). Kim is a commissioner on the L.A. County Commission for Older Adults and has served on the boards of several community councils and nonprofit organizations. In 2016, he was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor of Utah. Kim holds a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, an M.A. in gerontology from USC, an MBA from Westminster College, and B.A.s from the University of Utah.
Project
The Los Angeles County Department of Probation is working to reduce recidivism by using evidence-based practices and community-based services to help justice-involved youths succeed. To assist with these efforts, FUSE Executive Fellow Kim Bowman Jr. brought community voice and leadership into governmental processes, while strengthening the strategic visioning and management practices of the largest probation department in the country.
