Laksmi Lagares

LAKSMI LAGARES is an international impact strategist and executive advisor who delivers shareholder and stakeholder value by aligning social sustainability with business. She combines ESG and values-based leadership skills with deep partnerships, public policy, business development, sales, marketing, and communications expertise. She designs and implements public-private-community partnerships that are data-driven, impactful, and scalable; meeting community, employee, business, and consumer needs and objectives simultaneously.
Her work in Social Sustainability supports UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and she is a pioneer in using lived experience to solve global grand challenges. She has presented on the subject nationally and internationally. Lagares has been a guest speaker at various universities including Stanford, Mills, and UC Santa Cruz, and has held leadership positions with corporate, philanthropic, nonprofit, and academic organizations.
Project
The City of San José, CA, is working towards a “Climate Smart San José” to help mitigate the effects of climate change that affect the ecosystems, health, livelihoods, and security of its residents. FUSE Executive Fellow Laksmi Lagares will help create an inter-agency strategy to identify and apply for various financial and technical resources from government entities, local revenue, and private philanthropy sources to advance local climate adaptation and mitigation efforts.
