S. Neil Larsen
King County – Department of Natural Resources and Parks
As a consultant and nonprofit leader, S. NEIL LARSEN has over 15 years of experience in the conservation, sustainability, and workforce development fields. He was most recently the Executive Director of a nonprofit in Berkeley, CA that provided job training internships to youth and expanded access to sustainable transportation in the community. He has a BA in history from Bates College and a master of international affairs, with a concentration in environmental and energy policy, from Columbia University.
King County strives to tackle energy justice issues, primarily the heavy utility burden of marginalized groups, especially renters in multi-family dwellings. Through a year-long Fellowship, starting in October 2023, FUSE Executive Fellow S. Neil Larsen aims to alleviate this burden by forging key stakeholder relationships, analyzing the renters’ utility burden, and formulating policy recommendations, thus empowering King County to foster energy justice and climate resilience in the long run.
