Austin is partnering with FUSE to strengthen neighborhood resilience and expand pathways to good jobs and entrepreneurship so more residents share in the city’s prosperity. Austin’s growth has brought new investment and innovation, yet many neighborhoods still face barriers to opportunity. Residents and small business owners contend with rising costs, limited access to childcare and training, and uneven support for entrepreneurship. City leaders are advancing a place-based approach that meets people where they are, aligns services around what communities say they need, and builds local capacity so opportunity is not defined by a zip code.
FUSE is collaborating with the City to design and pilot cross-sector strategies that link residents to employment, business support, and essential services in a coordinated way. FUSE Executive Fellow Sandy Eapen will bring departments, community organizations, and employers to the same table, develop tools that make programs easier to navigate, and launch targeted initiatives that reflect community priorities. This effort will help Austin grow a more inclusive local economy, increase household stability, and ensure that prosperity is shared across neighborhoods.
